Updates:

1.  I was blogging and having fun with it, and then I stopped.  Now I’m back, hi!

2.  I ended up getting a job during the end of my student teaching. It was as a long term substitute teacher at a school right down the street from me.  I loved it!  It was a fun few months.  Now it’s over and I have more time on my hands than what I know what to do with.  Expect to hear from me often.

3.  I ran that marathon I was training for.  I am proud with how I did!  It wasn’t the sub-4 I wanted, but it was pretty darn close.  I’ll get it next year (:

4.  As for running..  Right now it’s HOT outside. I’ve been sticking to a quick 4 miler a day (followed by a dip in the pool).  Speaking of running..

Yesterday I went for a run.  It was like any other run that I do.  Sunny, hot, sweaty.  I was enjoying the sun on my skin and the fact that no one in my neighborhood was home so I didn’t have to weave in and out around cars.  Nothing could stop me!

And then I saw it.  When I run I look up and down (and all around) and there it was.  A slug.  In the middle of the sidewalk.  It the hot, sizzling sun.  What did I do?  I told myself I would get it on my way back.

I thought about the slug for the next 1.5 miles.  Then I passed it.  And I kept running without saving it.  I knew that it was going to shrivel up and face it’s end.

This slug has been eating at me for the past 24 hours.  There must be something mentally wrong with me because this slug has been the deciding factor in me going (dun, dun, duuun): vegan.

I made the decision mid-breakfast (eggs and bananas). I took the rest of the eggs to my mom’s house because I couldn’t bare throwing them away.  It's not too drastic of a change for me, though.  The only non-vegan foods I eat are eggs, yogurts, and condiments/chocolates.  I've been toying with the idea of going vegan for a while and that little critter pushed me into the dark side.  Thank you slug.

5.  I think that covers everything.  Now I'm off to do a treadmill run (so I don't have to face any slugs). This will be my second time on the dreadmill in about 3 months!  I think I kept up a pretty long no-treadmill-running streak.
