I had a wakeup time of 4 am this morning and had my coffee in my hands before 4:05 am.
I wish I could say that this was an unusual occurrence, but the 4 am alarm on my phone gets used a lot. Mornings are the time when I am most productive and I love being up before the sun. (Lately I’ve been trying to wake up a little later, closer to 5:15, which is still a hard concept for people to grasp.)
The reason behind my early start today (I can always find a reason to wake up early) was to squeeze in a 6 mile tempo run before work. I’m not sure when I’ll be home and wanted to make sure I got it done. I love morning runs on the weekends, but despise them on weekdays because I feel rushed.
I don’t think I’ve ever intentionally done a tempo run before. I’m not even sure how I did on this one, or if I even did it right! From what I’ve gathered the first mile is a warm up, the middle miles are race pace-ish, and the last mile is a warm down? I plan on doing some more research on them so I can sound like I know what I’m talking about.
Thought I would share my sweaty post-run look with you. No, I don't take my make up off at night. There are worst habits to have :)
